Dr Zahoor Qurashi
Zahoor has been involved in community work in the UK for over 25 years at various levels. Apart from grassroots activism, he has delivered many lectures on Islam in the West, Muslim youth in the west and other aspects of Islam & Muslims to various conferences and forums both in the UK and worldwide.
Zahoor was the project leader for the first ever revision of the Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s Translation of the Quran into modern English. He has also been involved in delivering management courses to mosque imams and leaders. Formerly, a member of the Central Working Committee of the Muslim Council of Britain, president of The Young Muslims UK, president of Islamic Society of Britain and chairman of the National Association of Muslim Youth (NAMY).
Zahoor obtained his PhD in Manufacturing Systems from Plymouth University in England where he also taught as a senior lecturer. He is a visiting associate professor to a few universities outside the UK. Chartered Engineer and Chartered Information Systems Practitioner, he has worked as a consultant for Reuters, Central Government, Astra Zeneca and many investments banks in London. Currently, he is the managing director of an import and distribution company and director of studies at Granville College London.
